The fashion flock love to fly to the far corners of the world, and for the Resort 2017 collections, a resort stop was the final destination for four fashion houses: from Rio de Janeiro to the countryside of Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, Westminster Abbey in London, and Havana in Cuba. After much pondering and procrastinating, here are my edits of favourite styles from each collection.
Christian Dior at Blenheim Palace
What’s not to adore at Dior! Interim designers, Lucie Meier and Serge Ruffieux arrived at the most luxurious of resort destinations, albeit apparently wet, (the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and the ancestral home of the Spencer-Churchill family), and the home of the Duke of Marlborough in Oxfordshire in England—Blenheim Palace. Presented in the library, the designers combined a twist of French chic with British style. Flamboyant with billowing sleeves, layers over layers, nods to the classic coatdresses, foxhunting prints, and floral print tea dresses—all very wearable.
