A Saving Grace, Resort 2013

Style: The delivery of Resort 2013 is the only saving grace between January sales and the first arrival of spring essentials. The drudgery of leftover holiday ensembles, and manhandled fall remnant merchandize litter store floors—for which seems like endless weeks of sales. But, thankfully enlightenment arrives with the delivery of Resort and this season there are many styles and trends to fall in love with.

Resort 2013: Preen by Thornton Bregazzi

By far, my two favorite collections for Resort: Preen by Thornton Bregazzi and Altuzarra. I LOVE them both. Every silhouette throughout Preen is intoxicating and masterful. Inspired by Jeff Koons the bold hydrangea prints juxtaposed with bold, colorful stripes are mixed with softer suiting, one-shouldered dresses, and sublime separates—I could wear every outfit.

The Message of Fall Starts to Unfold

Runway: Spring has arrived, and I am finally thrilled to indulge in bright colours, floral prints, and splashes of neon, dashed with hints of neutrals and pastels.  While my spring must-have wish lists continue’s to grow (check out my five faves on D Mag’s Shop Talk), I can’t help but think about the entire sartorial splendour I’ve seen on the runway for Autumn/Winter 2012. It’s hard to stay focused on the current season when I prefer surreptitiously to cultivate my needs for the coming collections.

Overcome by a deluge of accomplished designers, I am not sure what style to love on first. After reviewing my first cut of divinity, I cannot help notice my subconscious trend now they are all merged together—statement skirts, dresses, and coats that are heavily embellished continue to captivate my choice of style for fall 2012.
