I am ecstatic, Christian Dior has returned to Dallas! With Dior’s new couturier Raf Simons at the helm, gracious changes are taking shape, and Dallas will reap the ready-to-wear rewards at the new DIOR Haute Couture boutique in Highland Park Village.
Inspired by 18th-century design and the Avenue Montaigne flagship, Dior’s architecture team mixed modern design aesthetics with historical elegance, creating a boutique of refined bourgeois style. The luscious space, with four salons, includes a signature handbag salon, a shoe salon, fine jewellery and timepieces, and prêt-a-porter.
In celebration of the boutique opening, fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier partnered with DIOR Haute Couture, to create an exclusive exhibition titled: DIOR Couture Patrick Demarchelier. The body of work features 61 prints chosen from the “Dior Couture” book, which was photographed over a period of two years. The collection of fashion photography pays homage to the House of Dior collections from 1947 to the present day.
The exhibition is highlighted by the six emblematic themes from the world of Dior Haute Couture: Dior Line, the Dior Garden, the Dior Ateliers, the 18th Century, From Pink to Red, and the Dior Ball. Demarchelier has chosen a dress to represent each of these themes.
The store officially opens on March 22, and the exhibition housed at the temporary art gallery space in Highland Park Village will run from March 22nd – April 19th.
