It’s hard to keep a secret, but for the FGI Dallas, Fashion & Lifestyle Awards ‘Night of Stars’ Gala that I am co-chairing with Chuck Steelman in November, there are so many exciting things to share—we had to let one secret out.
Usually, all the honorees are announced during the Announcement Party—this year the event will be held on October 3rd at the Hilton Anatole, so stay tuned for more details for this event. In the meantime, FGI Dallas wanted to share the exciting news about the honoree for the 2012 Career Achievement in Fashion—Lela Rose!
In February, I witnessed the Fall 2012 collection elegantly glide down the runway at New York Fashion Week, read my blog post here: Calatrava Inspired. So I am thrilled to announce that FGI Dallas will honor Lela Rose with this award.
So what’s the scoop on Lela, well most Dallasites have already perused the darling flagship boutique in Highland Park Village, a befitting location for this Dallas native. Substance summarizes success, and Lela has plenty of that. As a graduate from the Parsons School of Design, she gained experience working with renowned designer Richard Tyler and Christian Francis Roth and crafted her skills in couture, and ready-to-wear.
In 1998 Lela Rose launched her signature collection, which now boasts a series of elegant collections in ready-to-wear, wedding gowns, bridesmaid gowns and a collaboration with Payless ShoeSource. The collections are available at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdales and internationally in Europe, Russia, Middle East, Taiwan, Japan and Canada.
This Dallas star, will shine on November 17th, as we honor Lela Rose for her Career Achievement in Fashion—and I hope that you will attend. For more details and to purchase tickets visit FGI Dallas.
