Born to be King, and third in line to the throne as the 43rd British monarch, it will be quite a while before newly born; HRH Prince of Cambridge George Alexander Louis takes the throne as King of England—Charles and William still have much to do!
The Haute Couture Fall 2013 shows unveiled in Paris this week amidst Chanel announcing the date for the Métiers d’Art show in Dallas. Every Chanel swooning fashionista will be chasing the hottest invitation in Dallas this century on December 10.
Wearing his directorial chapeau, Karl Lagerfeld plans to mesmerize the audience at the Métiers d’Art show with a mini-movie, which he begins filming mid-July in Paris. Geraldine Chaplin (daughter of Charlie Chaplin) will portray Ms. Chanel with actors Rupert Everett and Arielle Dombasle taking small parts. The mini-movie will depict the successful arrival of Coco Chanel to America in the mid-fifties, (note quote from Karl in my announcement post earlier this year) which Lagerfeld describes his technique as “old Technicolor—like Paris photos.” The excitement and anticipation is simply exhilarating, palpitating….I could on…
Watch this behind the scenes video taken from the Paris Edimbourg Métiers d’Art 2012/13 show, last year held in Scotland.
Dallas is ready for a monumental treat of decadent proportions. Watch the fur fly for this invitation!
Pyjamas—my new obsession, well pyjama-style pants at least. I’ll leave the full throttle pyjama party mood to Marc Jacobs, but show me loose fitting, printed drawstring pants, and I’m interested. I recently made three purchases—camouflage at Haute Hippie, black and white swirl print at DVF, and all black tuxedo style at Vince. I’ve definitely got comfort on my mind; add a couple of layers, long shirt, t-shirt and a cropped jacket—easy breezy.
The glass lobby of the Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall gleamed last night for the 2013 CFDA awards—underwritten quite brightly by Swarovski. With red carpet arrivals of stylish proportions, guests posed against the red step and repeat, which told a bold story for those in black, white and red.
Excitement sparkled this week in anticipation of the upcoming CFDA Awards on June 3! The art, home décor, RTW, bejewelled Fivestory boutique hosted a glittering Swarovski party that featured Objects d’Art designed by the nominees of the Swarovski Awards for Emerging Talent.
From Twilight to Starry Knight, Miss Nikki Reed, oh I mean, Mrs. Paul McDonald, (she married the ‘American Idol’ contestant October 2011) is emphatically adorable. The Twilight actress has collaborated with 7 For All Mankind on an exclusive jewelry collection. The capsule collection launched last week, but sweet Nikki arrived in Dallas to promote her collection at the 7 For All Mankind boutique in Northpark Center last night. Decked out in denim and jewelry, I sat sofa-side with Nikki and chatted about her latest jewelry venture.
