Sporty, biker or mini….as designers prepare for the arrival of Fall 2014 next month during fashion week I decided to muse upon on the arrival of spring, and reminisce the style forecast that will hit boutiques soon. A playful ambience captured the essence of spring/summer 2014 across multifarious themes, with a bold focus on sporty styles that resonate from adventurous casual layers, to evening chic—tough, yet well-edited and refined.

Opening Ceremony, Timo Weiland, Sacai

Sporty: Relaxed and athletic these looks are fun and sporty especially at Opening Ceremony—three easy layers and embellished, Timo Weilandsassy and sporty, and at Sacai on the Paris runway—this collection was by far my favorite for creative, sport imbued styles.

Jason Wu, Yang Li, Saint Laurent

Biker: A classic fave, biker jackets from Jason Wu, Yang Li, and Saint Laurent crossover from fall into spring, and transcend from tough daytime glam, to evening chic. If you invested in a biker jacket this past fall, the look remains strong for spring.

Nina Ricci, Isabel Marant, Alexander Wang

Mini: Hemlines are abundantly super-short and super-sassy with pleats and frills—love the muted grey ensemble at Nina Ricci, the soft feminine pink frills at Isabel Marant (check out those shoes) and tough feminine layers at Alexander Wang.
