I met fashion designer Joseph Altuzarra for the first time in New York at the Fashion Group International ‘Night of Stars’ gala two years ago, this week we met again over lunch with Matches Fashion founders Tom and Ruth Chapman.
Founded with boutiques in Richmond and Wimbledon, England, almost thirty years ago, the luxury retailer, with additional stores in Notting Hill, and Marleybone in London is now a serious online global retailer curating items from over 400 designers into a well-edited selection each season.
Launching their first digital trunk show with Altuzarra, with a series soon to follow that will include designers Emilia Wickstead and J.W. Anderson, Altuzarra has designed a five-piece capsule collection exclusively for Matches Fashion.
Lovely ladies, Tina Craig and Nancy Rogers, invited friends for lunch at Rosewood Mansion to meet with the Chapman’s and Altuzarra and to view their exclusive collaboration of shirtdresses. Needless to say, for summer you certainly can’t go wrong with a shirtdress, a silhouette I wear every year, it’s easy breezy and simple to style.
During lunch, I shared my snapshot above taken at the FGI gala with Joseph, and he smiled big and chuckled, “I remember that” well, that made my day! So back to those shirtdresses, the exclusive collection is available online, and I’m thinking pinstripe or black and white stripe…
