With Fall Fashion Week 2012 almost here, reviewing the pre-fall collections is the perfect anecdote to get me in the mood. I skipped through my emails, and clicked through WWD and style.com to select a few of my favorites looks—narrowed it down to coats, dresses and sumptuous prints. Color schemes follow similar palettes—black and white plays the perfect backdrop, with lashing’s of pillar box red, and bright pops of vibrant color accentuate the linger of summer.
Alice + Olivia. I am a sucker for a Parisian look, especially with a beret, so this look by Alice + Olivia piqued my interest. Perhaps it’s the cape and printed skinny pant combo that just screams naughty and playful, either way I love this look. So je ne sais quoi.
Doo.Ri. Without a doubt this is my favorite look from Ms. Chung’s collection. Sleek, chic and contemporary this wool coat with a cocoon silhouette and dégradé edging is the perfect juxtaposition over a matt black paillette sequin dress.
Kelly Wearstler. “London Calling”, Wearstler takes inspiration from England’s punk era. This statement trench coat is the perfect seasonal accoutrement, with a black and white cube motif that will definitely get you noticed.
Temperly London. Inspired by Dante Gabriel Rossetti—the essence of British romanticism honors this collection with celestial yet modern lines. A nude dream-like guipure gown, hardened with a wool trench coat completes a perfect dichotomy—and my favored Yin Yang style.
